The dilemma of Hindutva

In last one month the debate on Hindutva has  come  in forefront of Indian media and politics. This debate was reignited for several reasons few of them were result of some statements from ministers of union cabinet and some were due to few  other incidents. A first time member of parliament and newly inducted member in union cabinet used some derogatory words in her public rally  which was later taken as an abuse by some particular community and in  one other instance senior member of union cabinet demanded the religious book of Hindus “ ShrimadbhagwatGita” to be declared as national book. For last two years India is debating the issue of safety of women and its empowerment. The shocking incidents of rape and sexual assult of women is the issue which can not be seen in isolation. What awaits for 21st century ?

In the beginning of the 20th century two important events happened which shaped the history for the next century. In 1914 when process of beginning of end of   Khilafat institution started the process of separation of religion and state and diminished role of administered religion become mature and it paved the way for for more rationalization and scientific temper . In 1917 Soviet revolution tried to fill into the shoes of this ideological vacuum and role of faith and religion was almost denied in Marxist ideology . The demand for more rights for under privileged and watching the human history through the prism of economic angel dominated this new phenomenon and the space of left in economic, political , cultural and spiritual sphere was dictated by communists. My experience tells me that root cause of all the problems lies in “ Fear” and Fear born out of lack of love and lack of love remains  due to “ confinement in limitations” . It is very much visible that Abu Jundal, Abdul Karim Tunda and now founder of Indian Mujahideen Yasin Bhatkal has been arrested with joint operation of our intelligence agencies with support of US agencies. The politics on encounters is deeper than it looks

Two days ago one of the district court in Delhi delivered its verdict on the Batla House encounter case which happened in September 2008 days after serial blasts rocked the national capital . Before this blasts several other serial blasts happen in other parts of the country and the name of new terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen surfaced in these attacks in which hundreds of innocent people lost their lives. On September 2008 Delhi police received the information of a module of IM in Delhi hiding in Batla House part of one of the densely Muslim populated area called Jamia Nagar.  Delhi police conducted the brave operation and one officer of the special cell Mohan Chand Sharma got injured and succumbed to injuries later. Shah Bano to Isharat Jahan we have returned to 80’s

In the decade of 80’s I was merely a child but watching the developments going around me with great curiosity.  I can remember those developments in chronological order which happened after 1984. I was too young at the time of general elections for 1984 were in discussions and the failed experience of Janta Party was a great cause of worry among the opposition groups. Leaders like chandrashekhar ,  Chaudhary Charan Singh and Atal Bihari vajpee were preparing to make Congress out of power but the unfortunate incident of assassination of Smt Indira Gandhi happened and the whole political scenario changed in few days. Will Modi be the instrument for change in India?

The social, political and economic atmosphere of country is charged with heavy discussion of uncertainty. If you talk to any people ranging from any class to any gender or any age group one thing is very common that is aspiration for change. The change for which they are looking is not easy even for them to define also but they are looking for it. Most of the discussions are taking place from streets to restaurants and drawing room to Television channels are the political scenario of country post 2014 general elections. Has Secularism failed us?

The concept of ideology and “ISM” is western concept and modern phenomenon and every ideology or Ism has its life. According to “Sanatan Dharma” the truth is one and constant in its soul but we feel it in our three dimensional effect in every era according to our limitations and that form of truth can be described as the ideology for a particular period of time and I find no contradiction between west and our concept of ideology which we define in different way.
